I’m excited to bring my business and expertise to the world! It’s been a long road to get to this post due to planning, editing, changing, repeat. I’m just as excited to share my posts, articles, and general thoughts in blog form. This has been a bucket list item that is finally happening! I want to use this first post to introduce Creativa Writing and Design, what type of business it is, what it provides, who it helps, and how I got here. Thanks for stopping by!
For the past 10 years, I have grown my career in the rubber, plastic, and chemical industries. I have held many technical positions such as synthesis chemist, analytical chemist, compounder/testing technician, and technical service scientist. On top of all the job requirements for these positions, technical writer was added to the list for every job I’ve held. I was never hired as a technical writer, but all of these positions required me to write, manage, and create documents like procedures, instructions, training videos, standards, and specifications. It became a responsibility that I exceled at and ultimately loved doing.
It takes time, effort, and a capable person to keep up with a department’s documents along with all of the other required tasks. Through my experience, I found it is very difficult to find contracted technical writers. It’s even more difficult to find contracted technical writers who understand the content they are writing about (analytical equipment, scientific jargon, mechanical drawings and illustrations).
Therefore, Creativa Writing and Design was born. I know that this is a need for many businesses because I’ve been that person who needed it! There is a need to have a competent technical writer creating, managing, and reviewing technical documents. It’s essential that this happens behind the scenes in order for the business to run efficiently and effectively.
